"WOW, its like a hotel!"

"Terminal 3 is wonderful with filtered natural lighting and garden walls."

"Terminal One upstairs in the viewing gallery has a wide open floor space which is popular and usually full of 'campers' at night."
A Remark from one of its tourist.
For the 13th year, Singapore Changi has won our coveted top Golden Pillow Award. The airport sleepers have voted and it looks like Changi continues to have quite a grip on your hearts.....and your votes. If you've only ever passed through North American airports "Club Changi" is going to be a treat for you. Throw away those inflatable rafts for this trip, my friends, because you will find specially designed "snooze chairs" in the rest areas. In addition to those typical amenities that we rave about at other airports such as WiFi, internet cafes, prayer rooms, shopping, and good eats, add these upgrades available at Changi: city tours, a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, 24 hour massage and spa facilities, 24 hour business center, video games, music lounges, live bands, six gardens, a special "official" napping corner, and free movies -- all at the airport. There really is no reason to leave Club Changi. Several contributors have raved about Singapore's Changi airport and have suggested you stay a few nights there even if you have the money for a hotel. After all these years of handing out this award to Changi I have yet to visit it personally. I am still waiting for my invite. Maybe it's lost in the mail. Best of all, the airport is comfortable, safe, and quiet (so quiet in fact that students have gone there to study for their during exams).
All is not entirely well for Changi though, as it does seem to be falling from its once high pedestal. This year, the Budget Terminal has been getting some negative reviews. Toyotaboy95 writes that this no-frills terminal is "atrocious, a crime against all airports". While annaleighgiovinazzo commented that "descending from an Airbus A320 on a ladder" at the Budget Terminal clashed with Changi's "image of prosperity". That's not the Changi we have grown to love. Hopefully things improve there or maybe its time for another airport to step up and wow us again. Incheon, can you hear us???

UK airports open after airspace restrictions lifted only ticks after Iceland volcano erupted. United Kingdom (UK) officials announced Tuesday that the UK airspace will open at 10 pm (5 pm ET); this comes after a week of closure because of an ash cloud that has secluded airplanes grounded. Tuesday morning, approximately half of the discriminating flights whereas Europe were allowed conduct in the skies.

Tuesday morning, half of often to come flights were allowed to resume flight over Europe, but the volcano continues to create ash again has many travelers prejudiced. 14,000 flights are scheduled to take off in Europe on Tuesday, again those flights were special to above 20,000 feet.

The United Kingdom’s Civil Aviation jurisdiction (CAA) is allowing a phased reintroduction Tuesday after hours April 20.

The CAA said, “There consign continue to equate some ‘no fly zones’ where concentrations of ash are at levels unsafe for flights to bear place, but very incredibly smaller than the offer restrictions. Furthermore, the Met job warn that the ‘no hold water zones’ bring off not currently cover the UK.”

“Making absolute that air travelers constraint deserved safely is the CAA’s overriding priority,” the CAA vocal.

Thurday's launch of the GSLV-D3 rocket had made waves in the aeronautical community because it was the first time India was putting to check its own liquid cryogenic engine.

The much-anticipated launch of an Indian rocket using home-grown engine technology has failed, with mission controllers losing control of the pioneering spacecraft minutes after launch.

A successful launch would have represented a major breakthrough for India, which is investing heavily in developing its space industry.

But problems emerged minutes after the rocket left its launch-pad in Sriharikota, southern India, when scientists on the ground lost contact with it. The spacecraft was carrying a satellite in to orbit.

Steering failure

Officials from India's space agency confirmed that the mission had been a failure.

"There are indications that the cryogenic engine ignited but the vehicle was tumbling & controllability lost," said Dr. K Radhakrishnan, chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, adding that a steering engine failure appeared to have caused the problem.

"We saw the vehicle tumbling uncontrollably & it developed deviation. Seven vernier engines would not have ignited."

Excitement had been building in the country at the prospect of becoming the sixth country to use cryogenic engines successfully, which would make it an pretty prospect for communications companies seeking to launch satellites for a relatively low cost.

The quest to create an Indian cryogenic rocket engine has taken 18 years, & has cost $73 million.

That the rocket had been developed entirely indigenously had been a considerable source of pride for Indian scientists, who developed much of the technology while the country faced sanctions for carrying out a nuclear check in 1998.

The Indian space agency said that details of the flight information from the ill-fated rocket would be analysed to find out what went wrong, ahead of another check launch planned for later this year.

Strategic Move and Test for Fighters to airborne/land from motorway for refuelling and armament restoration. This exercise was carried out by Mirrage and J-7, for future use Motorway has been validated and cleared for our latest multi role fighters
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully validated its concept of fighter operations from motorway when its two fighter aircraft landed on a motorway. The historic landmark was achieved as part of the ongoing High Mark-2010 exercise. After landing, the aircraft were refuelled, rearmed and re-launched. While the point where the two aircraft touched down was not specified, it was believed to be somewhere on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway or that linking the capital with Peshawar. High Mark-2010, launched March 15, is the PAFs biggest war game in five years and covers the the entire country from Skardu in the north till the Arabian Sea in the south. According to a PAF spokesman, the ever changing geo-political environment in the region demands change in the employment concepts and doctrinal changes in the application of air power with emphasis on joint operations. High Mark-2010 would provide the PAF an opportunity to validate these concepts that are vital for the overall defence of the country, he added. To this end, the spokesman said, High Mark-2010 is aimed at conducting operations in a near-realistic tactical environment while integrating new inductions and providing role-oriented training to the combat and support elements of the force. The exercise is designed to achieve stipulated objectives with special emphasis on exposing PAF combat crew to simulated air battles based on contemporary concepts, he added. The exercise includes joint operations with extensive participation from the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy that would further enhance joint operations, integration and cooperation amongst the three services, the spokesman said. New inductions like the JF-17 Thunder aircraft that has been jointly developed with China and force multipliers such as the Saab-2000 Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft and Air-to-Air refuellers are participating in the exercise for the first time.
