Chairman of the board of directors and Director General of the airline Iran Air, Said Khesami, said that the company has concluded agreements with different countries for the purchasing and supplying of 400 aircrafts to Iran, FARS information agency said.

He said that among the aircrafts to be bought will be the TU-154, TU-204 and MD. They are expected to be delivered soon.

Khesami did not give any information about the type of aircrafts, the countries in which the aircrafts were bought and the exact date of their delivery to Iran.

The recent crash of the Iranian airline's TU-154 confirmed that Iranian civil aircrafts have been worn down by long-term usage and a lack of spare parts. Tehran does not buy aircrafts from companies if there is over 10 percent of U.S-made parts, such as Boing and Airbus, due to sanctions.

At present, 70 old aircrafts in Iran's civil aviation sphere must be changed.
